Why it pays off to be smart. Seriously.

There comes a time in everyone’s life where you need to know a little about a lot. Sure, you might know how to change a tire and that makes sense. We all drive cars and cars have tires. Cars can blow tires and you need to change them to get a new one. Well it also helps to know many more useful facts in life, other than what happened last week on the Jersey Shore. I know, it’s on t.v. so some one thinks I should be watching this right now instead of doing anything else.

Well recently, I had a puppy come into the back yard of my home. We named him Mitch by the way.  So I did what everyone else should do. I calmly invite him over and check to see if he is tagged. No tags. Collar, but no tags. So then I grab some of our dogs food and put it in a bowl and feed the dog. Grabbed some water and the dog drank the water like it was the best water ever. It is by the way. I won’t reveal my secrets on where I get my water. So then I waited for the bonfire, I had going in the back yard, to die. Grabbed a leash and then knocked on some doors. Yeah, I knocked on some doors. No one does that anymore. In fact, not only do people ignore any knock on their door after 5 p.m., they yell and scream at you. Hey man, I am just trying to be a good citizen and return a dog here lady.

So then what are you supposed to do next? Well you should take the dog to a vet, or after hours you take the dog to an emergency vet and have them run a check to see if the dog is chipped. I have never seen how you check for a chip in a dog, but I got my first look with this puppy named Mitch.  Pretty cool how it works. So they scan the dog and find out the original owner (s) never registered the chip.

You have had 4 years to register the chip, and you never do. I think that makes you a sub-par animal lover. So the lady at ANIMAL EEMRGENCY CENTER LAS VEGAS gave me a number to call. After 6 calls, it seems that the dog was either abandoned or escaped. It’s not unheard of in Las Vegas to have stolen animals. It happens a lot actually.

So I posted a bunch of ads on Craigslist, animal shelter rescue sites and so far no hits. So what I like to think is that I didn’t have to read a book or Google Search my way around to know what to do when a stray puppy comes into your back yard.

He sure is cute huh?
