Why I do not donate to charity or organizations

Doing a good deed for someone is always a nice thing. Until I realized it, I donate to charity all of the time. A month ago I was in Target and the lady in front of me was $0.30 cents short of being able to pay for her things. So as she sat there, trying to debate on what she didn’t need, or could put back, I put a dollar into the cashiers hand and let the lady continue with her transaction. That is not charity entirely, but it was a good deed.

I do not donate to Live Strong, The Red Cross, or the stupid commercials you see on T.V. that want you to sponsor a child in a third world country. Because of one simple fact. Those companies take the money you donate and spend it producing commercials, and paying spokes people to travel across the country. How is that charity. I understand the impact of raising awareness. But paying someone to fly around is just insane. How is that not stealing in some way. I think it is.

3 months ago, I was at a Walmart in Henderson. I found a dollar on the ground and put it in my pocket. Sure, not the most admirable thing to do. But as I walked into the store, there was a little girl who was trying to play a game of chance while her mother was on the phone calling a cab. So I stuck the dollar in and the girl played two games. That’s a form of charity right?

I think so.
