I notice the small details in life. I notice the things that should be paid attention to way more than they currently are. It’s not like I’m looking for a reason to hate a place, or to take something out on a person at their job. Some places just make it to easy for me. Example, there I was minding my own business as you do, and I was waiting in line to purchase some items from a connivence store. Just a couple of Monster Energy Drinks, a Coke and a Slim Jim. They weren’t items I had to have or I’d die. Just to be clear. So I’m waiting… and waiting… and waiting…. and you guessed it, still waiting. No one is behind the counter. There’s no bell to ring, there’s nothing around I could use, without paying for, as a bell or whistle. Zero. Zip. Nada. So I make a quick shout out “Anyone here, I’m ready to give you my money….”. I hear a rustle from behind the door that leads to the freezer and I’m assuming here, very tiny office for one. This voice calls out “Hold your horses Buddy, I’m coming.” The person that belongs to this voice was maybe 80+. She took her time, seriously, getting to the counter, had to step up on the stool to reach the cash register, log in and then ring me up. Now, this isn’t the problem that made this business lose my business. It’s that fact that it’s 2 a.m. in Las Vegas. It’s like this store was inviting a robbery to take place. Probably to get the cash register.
Who the hell…
Put’s a woman of that age, behind the register, full of cash, at 2 a.m. in Las vegas? I dunno. The manager is never in when I visit. All I know is that this person is a huge bag of…. well you get it.
Another Place that lost my business.
My mother is an amazing Bartender. When she first moved down to Las Vegas from Reno, that’s what she decided to do. So she took the appropriate actions and got a job. Then she got another job at a better place. She took a few years off and got another bar tending gig at a well known sports bar. They have 4 or 5 locations across the city. They offered her to work days, and then without notice they switched her to nights. Not like a swing shift kind of night. Like graveyard nights. Yeah, I know. Now it gets worse. The bar(s) that she is asked to bartend during the night are located in some of the worst parts of Las Vegas. Mostly Craig and Martin Luther King and Rainbow off of the 95. Rainbow and the 95 is a nice part of town until night falls and it becomes a gangland. Now I understand that you have to work your way up, and senior employee’s get their pick of shifts. What I do not get is this: Why wouldn’t you let the 6’6 260 lbs Ex Navy Seal work that shift, instead of any woman. It’s like they want, again to invite trouble into the area and cash in on the insurance. I mean, seriously. I’ll never drink or gamble at their location’s ever.
The Most Recent Business to lose, well, my business.
Over the last 3 years we’ve had about 4-5 rental cars. We’ve taken trips and we usually always use the same company. Notice I haven’t used any company names yet? Well I’ll use one now. Budget Rental Car in Detroit Michigan, specifically, the one that picks up up at the airport. The bus was late picking us up. We had a schedule to keep if we we’re going to make dinner and a hockey game that night. The game was half the reason we were there in the first place. We get the car. It was a nice car. Except the drivers side seat belt had the worst smell to it. Oh, the back seatbelt, again drivers side, looked as if someone took a swiss army knife and tried to cut their way through it. Yeah, it was bad. The Car itself had a few scratches, but nothing major. Why is this so horrible? Because this company will charge you a stupid amount of money if you smoke in a non smoking car, as a cleaning fee, but if no one smokes in the car it’s as if the car was never cleaned. I mean, imagine the people that work for that specific Budget running a restaurant, and you get my picture.
